OBC will contribute
to the realization
of a sustainable society.

Shigefumi WadaPresident and Representative Director

In recent years, a variety of challenges have surfaced, including environmental issues such as global warming and deforestation, and social issues such as poverty and hunger. To make the society we live in sustainable for the future, it is critical that we resolve social issues, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN. This requires us to think about what each of us can do to resolve these issues and to act accordingly.

Since OBC’s founding in 1980, our core business has been to support enterprises’ core operations. Currently, we are promoting the digitalization of business operations with the goal of increasing our customers’ operational efficiency and productivity. Digitalizing operations has the potential to contribute significantly to solving issues such as a declining workforce and resource decrease.
We believe that it is our company’s grand calling to leverage the technologies and expertise we have accumulated to date to help solve social issues.

The SDGs are a means of addressing social issues, but they will not produce immediate results. It is important to have a blueprint for a goal, and to keep moving forward with a positive outlook, one step at a time. In order for us to work toward solving social issues as a company, OBC has positioned contributing to society as one of its management goals. We have also established four key themes and material issues which reference the UN SDGs and various guidelines.

While the social environment and issues to be solved will continue to evolve, we will remain committed to fulfilling our responsibility to society as a company, centered on our universal management philosophy.
