Contributions to SDGs

In September 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted at the UN Summit, outlining 17 goals to be achieved by 2030, such as eradicating poverty, inequality, and injustice, and combating climate change. The SDGs consist of 17 goals and 169 targets to achieve a sustainable world, as well as the pledge to “leave no one behind” in the world. In other words, the SDGs are not simply aspirational goals, but a concrete action plan that calls for all businesses, governments, and local communities around the world to take action together to achieve prosperity for humanity and the planet. In today’s world, companies are expected to formulate frameworks for actively promoting sustainability in the long-term, in order to achieve the SDGs and build a better world.

The SDGs and OBC’s Initiatives

Since our founding, OBC has evolved together with our customers based on the concept of Customer First, while adapting to our customers’ ever-changing business operations and their needs for systems.
We believe that our company was able to progress to this point not only by chasing profit, but also by simultaneously achieving three things: contributing to society, sustainably developing the company, and enabling our employees to pursue their own happiness.
Today, the world faces a variety of challenges, including environmental, social, human rights, and educational issues.
If we can work to resolve these issues, it could be an opportunity for the company to grow as well as prepare for future risks.
We view the SDGs not as end goals, but rather as transit points to ensure that we continue to exist with our customers in the future. Therefore, we will continue to tackle innovation in order to create new value for the global environment and society while growing our business.
