Respect for Human Rights

Recognizing that respect for human rights is an important social responsibility for a company, we at OBC endeavor to correctly understand and interpret the laws and regulations, culture, religion, and values of each country and region, and aim to realize a safe, secure, prosperous, and sustainable society by fulfilling our responsibilities.
To this end, we respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other internationally recognized laws, accords, and declarations on human rights throughout all of our corporate activities, and endeavor to ensure that we are not directly involved in, or indirectly complicit in, discrimination or other human rights abuses. In the unlikely event our activities have a negative impact on human rights, we will take appropriate action.
In addition, in the event of a negative impact on human rights by business partners directly involved in our products and services, we will demand that these parties respect and not violate human rights.
In order to fulfill this responsibility, OBC management takes the initiative in respecting the human rights of all stakeholders, reviews and improves our business activities from the perspective of respect for human rights whenever necessary, and reflects this in our business activities, with the aim of establishing a corporate structure that respects human rights.
In addition, emphasizing our relationship with society, we believe that we should protect the following human rights through our business activities.

  • Maintaining a comfortable work environment and preventing work-related accidents and occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Prevention of child labor, forced labor, slavery, and discrimination
  • Curbing excessive work hours
  • Maintaining equality and all forms of non-discrimination, respect for diversity, and elimination of harassment
  • Freedom of association, respect for the right to collective bargaining, and ensuring minimum and living wages
  • Fundamental human rights defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, including all rights to exist and subsistence
